De Wieden

De Wieden is a lake and marsh area in the municipality of Steenwijkerland in the Kop of the Dutch province of Overijssel . It is an excavated low moor area . The Belterwijde and Beulakerwijde are two large peat lakes that are part of this nature reserve . Together with the Weerribben , the Weerribben-Wieden National Park forms an area of approximately 9,500 hectares. Together, the two areas form one of the most important wetlands in Europe.

De Zaanse Schans

The Zaanse Schans is an open-air museum that's fun for all ages. It offers a perfectly preserved glimpse into the Netherlands' industrial past with its traditional houses, windmills, warehouses and workshops. From 1961 to 1974 old buildings from all over the Zaanstreek were relocated using lowboy trailers to the area. The Zaans Museum, established in 1994 near the first Zaanse Schans windmill, is located south of the neighbourhood.

Deurzerdiep

The Deurzerdiep is one of the upper reaches of the Drentsche Aa in the Dutch province of Drenthe .The Deurzerdiep starts at Schieven , where the Amerdiep and Anreeperdiep converge. The deep then flows in a northerly direction past Deurze . The canalized section bends to the west and empties into the Havenkanaal , a branch of the Noord-Willemskanaal . The original Deurzerdiep meanders through the area west of Kampsheide and turns south of Loon into the Looner Diep .

Diependal

Diependal is a wetland nature reserve in Central Drenthe . It is managed by the Drenthe Landscape . The area borders the Hijkerveld near the village of Oranje . Not far from Diependal is the Fochteloërveen . Diependal is 1000 hectares in size. There is a bird hide in Diependal . The red-necked grebe can sometimes be seen from this hut. There is a long tunnel of 160 meters long, at the end of which is the hut. There is a booklet available in which observations can be noted.

Domburgsche Golfclub

The Domburgse Golf Club is a Dutch golf club west of Domburg in the province of Zeeland. The course was built in 1914 and is located close to the sea. There are nine holes . Each hole has a double tee, so the course can be played as an 18-hole course. There are a number of grass bunkers that were created from bomb craters from the Second World War.

Doolhof Landgoed De Braak

This is a 29-hectare estate of Natuurmonumenten on the north side of Paterswolde , consisting of park forest, meadows and mixed forest. At the beginning of the 19th century, the landscape-style park forest was designed by the landscape gardener Roodbaard, with winding lanes and graceful ponds. There is a maze and berceau in De Braak. Nearby, the estate is known for its rookery of up to 400 pairs, and the blue heron colony of 30 pairs. The centuries-old trees serve as shelter for many bats.

Duursche Waarden is a 120 hectare nature reserve owned by Staatsbosbeheer in the municipality of Olst-Wijhe near the hamlet of Fortmond . The Duursche Waarden consists of channels, levees and pieces of forest in the floodplains of the IJssel . The area is named after the nearby hamlet of Duur . River clay was extracted for centuries for the brick production that took place there on a fairly large scale.

Dwingelderveld National Park

The Dwingelderveld is Europe's largest wet moorland area. It is covered by numerous fens and marsh flats featuring a wide variety of rare plants. The park covers about 37 km2 and is mainly managed by the State Forest Service and the most important Dutch private nature management organisation Natuurmonumenten. It is the largest wet heathland of Western-Europe. Dwingelderveld is also designated as a Natura 2000-area.

Works of art in the form of drawings or sculptures have been placed in many places in the quarry.

Ghent-Terneuzen Canal

A beautiful canal linking Ghent in Belgium to the port of Terneuzen on the Westerschelde (Scheldt) Estuary in the Netherlands, thereby providing the former with better access to the sea. It is now 200 metres wide and 32 kilometers long, capable of accommodating ships of up to 125 000 gross tonnage.
