About Ameland Nature Center
Ameland Nature Center is a nature museum in Nes on the Wadden Island of Ameland in the Dutch province of Friesland. The museum was founded in 1972 and has been located in Nes since 1989. The nature museum has had a zoo permit since 10 November 2004 . In 2009 the museum was housed in a new building with a watchtower.

There is also a replica of a ship 's bridge and it is the base of the horse rescue boat . About fourteen times a year a demonstration is given from the center in which ten horses pull the lifeboat towards the beach southwest of Hollum. Artist Barbera Hofker-Esser made a tile tableauof the horse rescue boat.

Paardengraf Ameland is a grave for horses at Hollum on Ameland in the Dutch province of Friesland. The horses are buried in the dunes on the east side of the Lifeboat Path. It is not a horse grave with a deceased person. A memorial stone commemorates the disaster day. The stone of Swedish granite was donated to the island by the company Hoogenberg-Wegerif. The funerary monument was placed on Saturday morning December 15, 1979.
