The canton of Jura is the newest of the 26 Swiss cantons. Jura is considered a Mecca for Swiss watchmaking tradition and the Jura mountain range offers a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, cycling, skiing, and cross-country skiing.
The Abbey is a historic monument dating from the 18th century. Towering over the center of the village of Bellelay, a place imbued with history, this building in the Baroque style is a cultural and artistic meeting point. Col de la Croix is a pass in the Jura range connecting Saint-Ursanne and Courgenay, both in the canton of Jura in Switzerland.
