The Moron is a 1337 m above sea level. M. high mountain ridge with an observation tower in the Swiss Jura. The summit lies on the floor of the Bernese municipality of Malleray, around 7 km west-southwest of Moutier. The name originally goes back to the Latin name mons rotundus. The view from the top extends far across the first Jura chain up to the Alpine arc, from the Säntis to the Montblanc. In the north, the Vosges and the Black Forest come into view.

It is considered the smaller brother lake of the more famous Étang de la Gruère and lies at 964 meters above sea level. The pond is embedded in a forest in the Freiberg Mountains, is under nature protection and is part of the Doubs Nature Park.
