About Les Arcs

Les Arcs is a ski resort located in Savoie, France, in the Tarentaise Valley town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice. Initially created by Robert Blanc and Roger Godino, it is a part of the huge Paradiski system which is under ownership by Compagnie des Alpes, a French-listed company owning several other ski resorts as well as theme parks.

There is also a Great St. Bernard Pass, famous for giving St Bernard breed its name, and a San Bernardino Pass.

The lake is fed by meltwater and four streams, and it is the source of the Akhurian River.

Thirty years later, in 1983, it was significantly expanded. It is named after the hiker Elisabetta Soldini Montanaro, who tragically died in the mountains. It is the stopping point of the Alta via Della Valle d'Aosta n. 2, trail hiking in the Valle d'Aosta.
