Rigi, 6410 Arth, Switzerland
The Rigi is a mountain massif of the Alps, located in Central Switzerland. The whole massif is almost entirely surrounded by the water of three different bodies. The Rigi Kulm and other areas, such as the resort of Rigi Kaltbad, are served by Europe's oldest mountain railways, the Rigi Railways. The whole area offers many activities such as skiing or sledging in the winter, and hiking in the summer.

The Rigi is a mountainous area near Lucerne, between Küssnacht, am Rigi, Goldau, and Gersau. It's a typical Swiss green landscape with meadows, forests, and grazing cows. Since 1871, it is well connected by cogwheel train. Rigi Kulm is the highest point and offers great views of Lake Lucerne, the Alps in the south and the plains in the north, all the way to Germany. Also, there is a restaurant.
Mt Rigi watches over the eastern shore of Lake Lucerne and was one of the first mountains in the world to have a cog railway. First opened in 1871, the Mt Rigi rack train was originally pulled by steam engines. It was changed to electric, later on, but still today the route operates with nostalgic steam on special runs. There are actually two railways to the summit of Mt Rigi. The original Mt Rigi cog train from the shore of Lake Lucerne at Vitznau where the lake cruise boats stop.
The Nature Reserve and Wildlife Park Goldau is located in Central Switzerland in the middle of a wild, romantic landslide area. More than 100 species of wild European animals live in an area of 42 hectares. Many of them are endangered. The spacious animal enclosures are situated in between giant rocks and give the park its distinctive charm. One of the beautiful and informative places which gives an idea about the rare species of animals in the world.
The Lake Zug is one of the lesser-known Swiss lakes, on the outskirts of the Alps and north of Lake Lucerne. It is fed by the Aa, which descends from the Rigi and enters the south end of the lake. The Lorze feeds the lake at the northern shore.

Schwanau is an island in Lake Lauerz, located in the canton of Schwyz in Central Switzerland. It is occupied by a ruined castle, the Burgruine Schwanau, a chapel and a restaurant. Administratively the island lies within the municipality of Lauerz, but it is owned by the canton of Schwyz.
