We woke up at 3.30am to see the sunrise at Jebel Jais. It is a two hour driver from Dubai and the scenery is just breath taking. Visiting the mountain is worth a trip especially if you cannot make it to Musandam (Oman). At 6am there were almost no people on the viewing platform and by 7am everyone was gone. I assume all the people who were there earlier stayed over night. The hiking trail does not open before 8am and you cannot get any food until then either- so pack some breakfast (the food trucks did not open until we left at 9am). We After a short trekking along the assigned paths we could enjoy a truly beautiful view. Next time I want to try to go just before sunset to see what that is like.
And good news! If you come by Tesla there is a charger too.
