About Jebel Jais Mountain

A mountain on UAE-Oman border. The summit of the mountain, at an elevation of 1,934 m (6,345 ft) is located on the Omani side but the mountain is more easily accessible from the UAE side. A high point west of the summit is considered the highest point in the United Arab Emirates, at 1,892 m (6,207 ft). The world's longest zip line is located on the mountain. It is 2,832 m (9,291 ft) long, and users travel at speeds of up to 150 km/h (93 mph).

We woke up at 3.30am to see the sunrise at Jebel Jais. It is a two hour driver from Dubai and the scenery is just breath taking. Visiting the mountain is worth a trip especially if you cannot make it to Musandam (Oman). At 6am there were almost no people on the viewing platform and by 7am everyone was gone. I assume all the people who were there earlier stayed over night. The hiking trail does not open before 8am and you cannot get any food until then either- so pack some breakfast (the food trucks did not open until we left at 9am).   We After a short trekking along the assigned paths we could enjoy a truly beautiful view. Next time I want to try to go just before sunset to see what that is like. 
And good news! If you come by Tesla there is a charger too.
