Natuurcentrum Ameland - 4 Things to Know Before Visiting

The Vleyen is a recreation and nature area on the northeast side of Nes on the Wadden Island Ameland . The area is managed by State Forest Management. In the area there are playgrounds, a cable car and fishing, canoeing and rowing ponds. There is a castle on the playground.

The Swartwoude Agricultural and Beachcombing Museum , also known as Museum Swartwoude , is a cultural-historical museum dedicated to the existence of the Ameland farming population around the end of the 19th century and early 20th century. The agricultural collection is housed in an original farmhouse from 1899 and includes agricultural implements as well as household objects from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Ameland Nature Center is a nature museum in Nes on the Wadden Island of Ameland in the Dutch province of Friesland. The museum was founded in 1972 and has been located in Nes since 1989. The nature museum has had a zoo permit since 10 November 2004 . In 2009 the museum was housed in a new building with a watchtower.

The Maritime Center Abraham Fock is a museum in Hollum on the Wadden Island of Ameland . In the museum you can find a collection about navigation , radio communication and rescue operations. There is also a replica of a ship 's bridge and it is the base of the horse rescue boat . About fourteen times a year a demonstration is given from the center in which ten horses pull the lifeboat towards the beach southwest of Hollum. Artist Barbera Hofker-Esser made a tile tableauof the horse rescue boat.
