Flashy Dubai

The tallest building in the planet!

The entry to Burj is from the Dubai mall and then you will shoot up 125 stories high on to the viewing deck. The tickets can be purchased online and they will give you a timeslot for your visit. Dubai mall is so huge so lookout for the signs pointing to Burj. We had some trouble navigating.

The areas near the ticket counter can be crowded with people visiting the tower, so be prepared for long ques. And also, if you have a choice, get the entry tickets for 6PM or later as the city will be lighted up and you might be able to enjoy the amazing view of the fountain show below the tower.

The view is amazing from up, you can see the many other tall buildings in the area become puny all of a sudden. Vehicles passing through the large highways below will look like small matchboxes, the turquoise color of the fountain pools mesmarizing in the bottom, and I bet flat earth beleivers might have a hard time explaining the curvature of the earth that can be seen from the top.

Aside from the view, there are models of the tower in its different costruction periods, videos explaining its history and stuffs like that. The ticket prices are about 140AED for visiting levels 124 and 125. There is also an option to go all the way till 148th floor. On a side note, there are lightshows on the tower daily from 6PM on wards along with fountain shows in the pool below. The fountain dances with different songs, and the Burj will have lightshow on it that dances with the song played. It happens in every 30 minutes and a treat to watch. Do not miss neither of them- the light show and the fountain show.

Burj Khalifa

Nice beach with nicely colored water. You can swim here, there are coffe shops and restuarants near the beach and lots of water activities.

We went for jet ski (my first time) and had an amazing time riding them for thirty minutes. You can ride with a guide and watch the skylines in the area. Although while we were there the buildings were not so visible due to dust storms in the area. I was nervous and anxious at first but soon that changed to all adventurous mode. Nele was a total expert at jet skiing though.

We rented the jet skis from a group called Luxuary yacht club or something. The irony was that there wasnt anything luxuarious about the jet ski and the guide was not the nicest in the planet. We could have done a better job ourself by renting the jet skis and exploring the area in our own but unfortunately that is not permitted as the waters are used by other large boats as well.

The show runs every half hour or so but from 6 to 11PM is the best time time view it.

Unlike most other fountains I have seen, this one really dances to the beat of the song, its a treat for the eyes. The music, the light, the way water shoots up and bends and twists, so beautiful to watch. I was here at noon and evening and had completely different experiences. While the show in the afternoon was top notch, the evening shows added twice the pleasure do to the amount of lightworks too involved. You dont need to pay any fee, just have to stand in the sides (it can be very very crowded) and just enjoy the view.

And in addition to the fountain show, the Burj Khalifa too puts up its own massive lighworks. The entire size of the tower is filled with LED&#39;s and these too dances with the music played. The lighshow too happens in every half hour., so at 6PM fountain show, 6.15 lightshow, 6.30 fountain show again and so on.

It was incredible to watch both the shows and then again like many other stuffs I saw at Dubai, this too was an incredible experience.

The Dubai Fountain

In the middle of the Dubai Mall is this humengous aquarium and zoo. The aquarium is filled with many different species of sharks and plenty of other types of fishes that I do not know off. It is designed in a way that people who visits the mall can take a look at it from outside in all its glory and if you purchase a ticket then you can walk inside the underwater tunnel and visit the zoo.

The view inside the tunnel is breathtaking. I was walking with my mouth open in full awe. There were divers inside the aquarium swimming with the sharks and fishes (you will have to purchase different ticket for a dive), the place was very beautiful and amazing.

The zoo has its own collection of jelly fishes, colorful schools of small fishes, beavers, night insects and snakes native to emirates, penguins and a giant giant crocodile!! It is seriously huge! We had a great time in here too, the aquarium and the zoo visit was an unique experience.
