Fortress Marienberg

A prominent landmark on the left bank of the Main river in Würzburg. The mighty Fortress is a symbol of Würzburg and served as a home of the local prince-bishops for nearly five centuries. The fortress is located on a prominent spur of the 266-metre-high (873 ft) Marienberg which rises about 100 metres over the Main river on the opposite side of the city of Würzburg. Vineyards cover the slopes around the fortress.

Frankfurter Kunstverein (Frankfurt Art Association)

Frankfurter Kunstverein (Frankfurt Art Association) is an art museum located in the center of Frankfurt. It was founded in 1829 by a group of influential residents of the city and today it is situated on a gothic building from 1464 called "Steinernes Haus (Stone Building)". The museum has no permanent collection, but its contemporary art exhibitions are internallionally renowned.

Freilandmuseum Lehde(Open Air Museum Lehde)

Open Air Museum Lehde includes three houses, with eleven estate and residential buildings that were built in 1957. It provides insight into the Sorbian/Wendish population's way of life until the middle of the 19th century.

Fuggerei

World's oldest social housing complex still in use. Founded in 1516 by Jakob Fugger the Younger(a merchant, mining entrepreneur, and banker) as a place where the needy citizens of Augsburg could be housed. The rent was and is still one Rhenish guilder per year (equivalent to 0.88 euros), as well as three daily prayers for the current owners of the Fuggerei.

Gasometer Oberhausen

This 1920s industrial landmark is a former gas tank that was rebuilt after World War II in Oberhausen, Germany. The tank was converted into an exhibition and hosted several large scale exhibitions. It is an important point in the European Route of Industrial Heritage and the Industrial Heritage Trail.

Gerhard Marcks House

The Gerhard Marcks House in Bremen is a museum for modern and contemporary sculpture, with national and international recognition. Special exhibitions feature not only classic artists such as Moore, Maillol, or Giacometti but also younger artists, demonstrating that sculpture is an active medium. German Clock Museum

situated near the centre of the Black Forest town of Furtwangen im Schwarzwald, a historical centre of clockmaking. It features permanent and temporary exhibits on the history of timekeeping, and is a part of the local technical college. A major focus of the museum is on clockmaking in the Black Forest, both as a cottage industry and on an industrial scale. The Wilhelm Busch Museum showcases all aspects of the life of the famous poet and designer Wilhelm Bush. The museum was founded in 1937, it displays the largest art collection for Wilhelm Bush as well as comic art and caricatures.

German submarine U-995

German submarine U-995 is a Type VIIC/41 U-boat of Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine. It has found its final destination at the Ostsee beach just a few kilometers from Kiel. It was one of the most important submarine types of the Second World War. From 1943 till 1945 the U 995 fulfilled several missions against allied convoys heading for Murmansk.

Germanisches Nationalmuseum

Germany's largest museum of cultural history, it houses a large collection of items relating to German culture and art extending from prehistoric times through to the present day. Out of its total holding of some 1.3 million objects, approximately 25,000 are exhibited.

Glyptothek

Commissioned by the Bavarian King Ludwig I to house his collection of Greek and Roman sculptures. It is Munich's oldest public museum and contains sculptures dating from the archaic age (c. 650 BC) to the Roman era (c. 550 AD).

Goethes Gartenhaus

Goethes Gartenhaus in the park on the Ilm in Weimar was a place of residence and work of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Since 1998 it belongs as part of the ensemble " Classical Weimar " for UNESCO - World Heritage Site. The house is possibly a winegrower's house from the 16th century - a time when viticulture still played a major role in Weimar. In its time, the slope was more of an orchard or vegetable growing area. Today the garden house is set up as a museum.

Gorch Fock I

Gorch Fock I is a German barque with three masts, the first of a series built-in 1933. It has five sister ships and was taken as war reparations by the Soviet Union after World War II and renamed Tovarishch; then, it sailed under Ukraine before being transferred to Stralsund in 2003. It is currently a museum ship.

Gutenberg Museum

The Gutenberg Museum is one of the oldest museums of printing in the world, located in the old part of Mainz, Germany. It is named after Johannes Gutenberg, the inventor of printing from movable metal type in Western Europe. The collections include printing equipment and examples of printed materials from many parts of the world. The Gutenberg Museum's collection of bookplates, is the most comprehensive public collection in Germany and one of the most important worldwide.
