I have been anticipating going to the mining museum for a while, and it did not disappoint at all. The major highlight is the coal mine under the museum that you can access. Going through the mining tunnel, seeing all the equipment was a new experience. Apart from the tunnels, you can also go up the shaft tower to have a good view of Bochum. Apart from the mine and the tower, the museum has large collections of stones, minerals and exhibits the history of mining in the region. Highly recommend to visit especially if you have never been in mining tunnels.
