Aiken Canyon is one of the last high-quality examples of the southern Front Range foothills ecosystem. The preserve is composed of a mosaic of habitat types, including shrublands, tallgrass prairie meadows, pinyon juniper woodlands and mixed coniferous woodlands.The preserve consists of foothills, shrub and woodland ecosystems and is 12.4 miles southeast from Colorado Springs located on the eastern slope of the Rampart Range which is within a smaller foothill system of the Front Range

This beautiful park with 16.9 acres land is a local favorite for kids, runers, dogs and events. Connects to Pikes Peak Greenway Trail.There are interactive pieces of art, called Quirks, which inhabit one side of the playground. It would provide a community space where people could convene in the beauty of the city. It was completed in 2005, after many years of planning and construction, with the sculptural fountain being dedicated soon after.

The Barr Trail is the most popular way to climb Pikes Peak. It is a 12-mile trail with 7500 feet of elevation gain. The high elevation trail with a long sustained grade is rated more difficult by the U.S. Forest Service. With a 7,800 feet elevation gain to reach the summit, the Colorado Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau states that it is an advanced trail and is the most difficult trail in the Pikes Peak region.

Blodgett Peak is a mountain summit in El Paso County, Colorado. Blodgett Peak is located in Pike National Forest. and at its base is Blodgett Peak Open Space of Colorado Springs. Franklin Mountains State Park is a Texas state park in El Paso, Texas, in the United States. Park headquarters are located at an elevation of 5,426 feet with the highest peak reaching 7,192 feet . It is one of the largest urban parks in the nation lying completely within city limits, covering 24,247.56 acres. Two hiking trails can be accessed from Woodrow Bean Transmountain Drive. Plans for a network of 100 miles of hiking trails are under consideration.

Helen Hunt Falls is a waterfall located on Cheyenne Creek in the North Cheyenne Cañon Park of Colorado Springs, Colorado. It is a gorgeous place for a hike or picnic. The Columbine Trail, which starts at the entrance of the Park by the Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center, terminates at Helen Hunt Falls. Visitors can hike a short distance of about 2/3 of a mile up a moderately steep trail above Helen Hunt Falls to reach Silver Cascade Falls.

This is a rare historical treasure. Preserved under a protective red sandstone overhang, cliff dwellings over 800 years old await you here. You are encouraged to explore the dwellings room by room using a self-guided tour. The attraction was established using replica and reconstructed Pueblo cliff dwellings. An associated private museum features commercially-developed displays about Ancestral Puebloan peoples from the perspective of white settlers in the American West.

The May Natural History Museum is located on the Golden Eagle Ranch. The museum exhibits one of the world's largest private displays of giant tropical insects including thousands of beautiful butterflies and moths, bizarre beetles, giant spiders and deadly scorpions. The May Museum consists of unique 7,000 specimens of insects and spiders housed in custom-made cases with handwritten labels. The collection includes a wide variety of insects including beetles, butterflies and so more.

Mays Peak is located in North Cheyenne Canyon. The summit is a short hike off of Capt Jacks trail, not far from the top of High Drive. The trees at the summit are sparse and allow for nice views of the city and the canyon. The mountain is just opposite of Mount Buckhorn with High Drive running between them. The summit offers great 360 degree views of the city and the surrounding area.
