This is a 17th century Roman Catholic wooden image of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated in the Philippines. A Roman Catholic church located in the town of Tanay, Rizal Province in the Philippines. The construction of the present church was begun in 1773 and was completed after ten years in 1783. The town was transferred to Ibayo in 1636 but returned to the present site in 1682. The altar and lectern were constructed with stones that were unearthed from beneath the site of the church. St. Jerome Church stands high up in the town of Morong. It was built in 1615 by Chinese craftsmen as evidenced by the Chinese-style lions at the entrance to the steep driveway. The second larger stone-church, as it is right now, was rebuilt by Father Juan de Salazar in 1630. Now it is one of the famous pilgrimage centres in this area.
