Mukkombu Dam

The dam is built at the location where the Kaveri River leaves its tributary, named River Kollidam. The length of Mokkombu is 685 meters, and its layout was planned by Sir Arthur Cotton. Mukkombu is a beautiful picnic spot in the region. It is also called as the upper dam.

Mula Dam

This is an earthfill and gravity dam on Mula river, The height of the dam above lowest foundation is 48.17 m.

Murguma Dam

A huge dam located in the heart of Purulia district. The dam is on the tributary of the Kangsabati River. Murguma is a very beautiful place for weekend.The natural beauty of Ajodhya hill is visible from this point.

Nagarjuna Sagar Dam

This is a mansionary dam across the Krishna river at Nagarjuna Sagar which straddles the border between Guntur district and Nalgonda district. Constructed between 1955 and 1967, the dam created a water reservoir with gross storage capacity of 11.472 billion cubic metres. Nagarjuna Sagar was the earliest in a series of large infrastructure projects termed as "modern temples" initiated for achieving the Green revolution inn India.

Nilwande Dam

Nilwande Dam refers to two associated gravity dams built using roller-compacted concrete, the first use in India. They are situated in Ghatghar village in Ahmednagar district Maharashtra, India. Both dams create a lower and upper reservoir for the 250 MW pumped-storage hydroelectric power station.

Osman Sagar Dam

A reservoir in the Indian city of Hyderabad, which was created by damming the Muzi river in 1920 to provide an additional source of drinking water for Hyderabad and to protect the city after the great Muzi flood. It was constructed during the reign of the last NIZAM of Hyderabad state.

Palayi Kadavu

Palayi Kadavu is pretty much hidden from outsiders. Panchet Dam

Panchet Dam was the last of the four multi-purpose dams included in the first phase of the Damodar Valley Corporation. It was constructed across the Damodar River at Panchet in Dhanbad district in the Indian state of Jharkhand, and opened in 1959.

Papanasam Dam

The Papanasam dam is also known as the Karaiyar dam. The dam is used to irrigate Thirunelveli and Thoothukudi districts.

Parichha Dam

Parichha Dam, built on the Betwa River near Parichha town. Its reservoir is being used by the parichha thermal power plant for electricity generation. The reservoir's a placid stretch of water that runs to Notghat Bridge, 34 km away from Jhansi - is ideal for water sports.

Patratu Dam

The dam was made to store water of Nalkari River; this is the main attraction of Patratu. One can see flying fishes during sunrise by sitting at the coast of the Dam. Very few people know there is a tunnel below the dam which connects two villages of Patratu named Labga and Hariharpur. Due to security reasons it has been closed for everyone. Boating has been started from 14 January 2010 on dam.

Pechiparai Dam

An artificial water body, situated near the pechiparai village of Kanyakumari. Constructed between 1897 and 1906. A European engineer was the one who worked behind this beautiful dam.

Pong Dam

A reservoir has been constructed on the river Beas in the wet land of Shivalik hills of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, which has been named as Maharana Pratap Sagar. It is also known as Pong reservoir or Pong Dam.This dam was built in 1975 named in honor of Maharana Pratap, this reservoir or lake is a famous wildlife sanctuary and one of the 25 international wetland sites declared by Ramsar Sammel in India.

Ponnaniyaru Dam

It is constructed beyond Preumalmalai and Chemmalai. The tourism around the dam is promoted by the Tamil Nadu Department of Tourism. A large number of local people and outsiders visit the dam. There is a bridge without any support of piers on the Ponnaniyaru Dam. It is known as a hanging bridge and offers you the panoramic view of lush green forest and hills. Standing on the bridge, you can see the trains moving on the rails between the hillocks.

Prakasam Barrage

Prakasam Barrage was constructed by Sir Arthur Cotton in 1957. It is also used as road and connects the Kolkata-Chennai highway. The barrage provides water for the irrigation purpose and over 1.2 million acre of land is irrigated by the dams water.The Barrage is built in a venetian style and consists of around 160 pillars.

Ranjit Sagar Dam (Thein Dam)

One of the highest earthfill dam in India. This dam is a part of a hydroelectric project constructed by the Punjab government. The project is used for both irrigation purposes and power generation. A lot of peoples visits this place every day.

Ranjit Sagar Dam Jamnagar

Ranjitsagar Dam is the water source for the city. It has a municipal garden, a pleasant spot for picnics and birdwatching during the migratory season.

Rengali Dam

This dam is constructed across the Brahmani river. The reservoir formed by the dam is the second largest reservoir in Odisha, with 37,840 hectares at full level and 28,000 hectares at mean level.
