Fascinating to watch water gushing through the tunnel. We couldn't explore the insides of the tunnel as the volume of water was a bit too much. The tunnel is connecting two reservoirs and is five kilometres in length.

Water from erattayar dam is taken to the Idukki reservoir using this four kilometer tunnel. Usually the water flow and the cave looks much more mysterious with the opening on tbe other side visible as a tiny point of light but since we were there at peak monsoon, the reservoir was almost full and had a totally different view.

Structure of tunnel is unbelievable and cannot believe that it is man made.
