10 Dams to explore in Karnataka
State in the south western region of India
Spread across the river Sharavathi, it is one of the major dams of Karnataka with a length of 2.4 kilometers. Connected by canals, the reservoir gets it's water from nearby Chakra and Savahaklu reservoirs and from rainfall in the region.
Located at the confluence of the Arkavathy and Kumudavathi river and is used by the Bangalore water supply and sewage board. It was inaugurated in 1933. Not at all a huge dam, but the surroundings are quite beautiful and calm
