This is the most visited and one of the largest museum in the country but it was under maintenance when we were there. A lot of the museum area were closed when we were there, very dissapointed.

The museum consists of three collections- antiquity collection, middle East museum and museum of Islamic art. Most of the artefacts here are from excavations in the areas of ancient Babylon, Uruk, Assur, ancient Egypt etc.. The museum has collections of enormous architectural reconstructions like Market Gates of Miletus and the great altar of Pergamon, Ishtar gate of Babylon etc.. this is one of those museum that is a must visit to be honest.
