Neeltje Jans - 4 Things to Know Before Visiting

A majestic theme park located in the former artificial island Neeltje Jans at the Oosterschelde. The Veerse Gatdam is a dam of about one kilometer between Vrouwepolder on Walchren and D'n Banjaerd on North-Beveland. This dam is part of the Delta Works .The dam is 2.8 kilometers long and connects Walcheren with Noord-Beveland . The dam is partly constructed as an asphalt - covered dike on the Plate of Onrust . For the remainder, submersible caissons were used.
