About Stichting Vroege Vogels

The Dutch Early Birds Foundation aims to restore old aircraft and aircraft engines and rebuild old models. The foundation was founded in 1976 by Jaap van Mesdag and has a working museum that is located in a hangar at Lelystad Airport .Even before the foundation was established, a number of friends decided to refurbish a few rotary engines. In 2013, the collection has grown to 23 aircraft of different types.
