Nature Park Lelystad is a nature -rich recreation area near Lelystad that is managed by the Het Flevo landscape foundation . It originated in the 1970s because the Amsterdam zoo Artis needed extra space for large ungulates . In the park, all kinds of animals from the Eurasian area are kept in large fenced areas that are no longer often found in the wild or are endangered, such as Bisons , Father David's deer and Przewalski 's horses.
