Museum Staphorst offers you plenty of opportunity to discover Staphorst's culturally rich past and present. It occupies two farms. A reception room has been set up in the front farm. Behind it is an older typical Staphorster farm. The living area is still in its original state and there are exhibitions where regional costumes, jewelry and folk art are exhibited.

This is a living museum showcasing a historic farming village with costumed actors, a gift shop & a cafe. It is the only place in Giethoorn where you can see how people lived more than 100 years ago and how they earned a meagre living by cutting peat and building small boats. There is also a museumshop with coffeecorner and temporary exposition. An audiotour in multiple languages is included in the entrance fee.

The Belterwijde is a lake in the Kop van Overijssel southwest of Wanneperveen in the Dutch province of Overijssel. The lake is separated in an eastern and a western part by the Blauwehandseweg. On the north bank of the eastern part there are many recreational facilities in the form of campsites, bungalow parks and marinas, which are in line with the development of the Westeinde of the regional village of Wanneperveen.

De Reest is a Dutch stream that starts in the now excavated raised bog between Slagharen , Lutten and Dedemsvaart and meanders to Meppel , where it flows into the Meppelerdiep approximately 35 km later . The Reest flows on the north side of the primeval valley of the Overijsselse Vecht .

Boswachterij Staphorst of Staatsbosbeheer is a 940 hectare forest and nature reserve in the eastern part of the municipality of Staphorst in the province of Overijssel . It is located in an otherwise agricultural environment. The forestry is crossed by dirt roads and several motorways. In the middle is the Zwarte Dennen swimming pond , with a landscaped sandy beach all around, which attracts many visitors for daytime recreation in summer time.

The Kleine Belterwijde is a lake in the northwest of the Dutch province of Overijssel. The west side of the lake is formed by the Arembergergracht . There are campsites with marinas along the other sides of the lake. The lake is connected to the Belter and Beulakerwijde via the Arembergracht . The Schutsloot opens on the south side. This canal runs in an easterly direction through the village and connects the lake with both the Belterwijde and the Schutsloterwijde .

The Beulakerwijde is the largest lake in the Kop van Overijssel. The Beulakerwijde is used intensively for recreational purposes. There are marinas near the Blauwe Hand, near the Beulaeke Haven recreation park, which was established around 2000.

The indoor tropical garden Papiliorama is a paradise for lovers of butterflies and tropical plants. The beautifully colored butterflies come from around the world and find their food in the tropical flowers. The butterfly garden is more than 900 square meter.

Dolmen D54 is located outside Havelte on the Havelterberg in the Dutch province of Drenthe . The hunebed is located south of the Hunebedweg, a side road of the Van Helomaweg. It is located on a small sandy plain surrounded by grass. The hunebed has six capstones , four of which rest completely on the supporting stones . The easternmost capstone is missing, as is the keystone below. On the western side are three keystones.

Weerribben-Wieden National Park is a national park in the Dutch province of Overijssel , municipalities of Steenwijkerland and Zwartewaterland . The national park is the largest continuous peat bog in northwestern Europe. Comprising the largest bog of Northwestern Europe, the park consists of two areas, De Weerribben and De Wieden; it has an area of roughly 100 square kilometres . The park was founded in 1992, although De Wieden was added later, in 2009.

The Belterwijde and Beulakerwijde are two large peat lakes that are part of this nature reserve . The Zwartewater is a 19 kilometer long river in the Dutch province of Overijssel . The river originates in Zwolle , where it arises from the Soestwetering and the Nieuwe Wetering. The river flows into the Zwarte Meer . The Dedemsvaart canal, dug by Baron van Dedem, flows into the Zwartewater.

Woldberg is a striking hill in the flat Steenwijkerland just north of Steenwijk . The hill is largely wooded. Together with De Eese , the De Woldberg forest area is part of the Steenwijkerwold management unit of Staatsbosbeheer.There are also two fens in the forest area. In the past peat was extracted here. Plants such as Waterdrieblad grow here.The hill is clearly visible at the Steenwijk-Noord exit of the A32 , where you drive right along the hill.

PIER+HORIZON by Paul de Kort lies in the Zwarte Meer lake in the Noordoostpolder. This landscape artwork follows the line to Oud Kraggenburg, along what used to be a breakwater. Even before the draining of the Noordoostpolder in Flevoland, there was a 6km-long breakwater here extending into the water of the Zuiderzee (now the Zwarte Meer). It linked the lighthouse keeper’s house Oud Kraggenburg to the mainland at Genemuiden.

Museum Palthehof is a museum in the Oaveriesselse village of Ni'jlusen , where you can learn about the history of this place. The Museum is dedicated to the Palthe family, who were landowners on Ni'jlusen until 1928. Het Zwarte Meer is a Dutch lake on the border of the provinces of Flevoland and Overijssel. was created in the 1940s by the construction of the Noordoostpolder to the west of it . The lake is 1700 hectares in size and belongs to the Randmeren Noord of the IJsselmeer. The Zwarte Meer is surrounded by four municipalities, clockwise: Noordoostpolder (province of Flevoland), Steenwijkerland , Zwartewaterland and Kampen.
