The Sharjah Biennale happens every two years. The next one is in 2019. The complex is used for other arts and architecture events in the time inbetween by the Sharjah Art Foundation. This is my absolut favourite event in the UAE because they use a huge space of unique buildings in the old city but also accross town to exhibit international artists. You can wonder around the different venues or take a shuttle bus to the off-site buildings. Look out for all the extra lectures and film screenings around that time too.
