Chi Lin Nunnery

The Chi Lin Nunnery is a Buddhist temple and charitable organization in Diamond Hill, Kowloon. Housed in a monastery complex, the nunnery is reminiscent of the Tang Dynasty in its architecture and was built in the 1930s. It is constructed entirely with cypress wood, without the use of any nails, and is currently the world's largest hand-made wooden building.

Man Mo Temple

Temple for the worship of the civil or literature god Man Tai and the martial god Mo Tai. The two gods were popularly patronized by scholars and students seeking progress in their study. The temple has a traditional interior with dozens of incense spirals overhead.

Po Lin Monastery

The main temple houses many Buddhist scriptures and three bronze statues of the Buddha – representing his past, present and future.

Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery

The Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery is a mid-20th century Buddhist temple located in Sha Tin, Hong Kong. Its designation as a monastery is actually a misnomer because there are no monks residing at the complex, which is managed solely by laypersons.

Tian Tan Buddha

Large bronze statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. The statue is sited near Po Lin Monastery and symbolizes the harmonious relationship between man and nature, people and faith. It is a major center of Buddhism in Hong Kong and is also a tourist attraction.
