Obrestad Lighthouse

Obrestad Lighthouse is a coastal lighthouse located on the north side of the small farming village of Obrestad in Hå municipality, Rogaland county, Norway. It sits on a promontory about 5 kilometres west of Nærbø. The square tower was first lit in 1873 and the tower was rebuilt in its present form in 1950. The lighthouse was automated in 1991 and has been a protected historical building since 2000.

The three swords commemorate the historic Battle of Hafrsfjord which by tradition took place there in the year 872 when King Harald Fairhair gathered all of Norway under one crown. The largest sword represents the victorious Harald, and the two smaller swords represent the defeated kings.
