4 Beaches to Explore in Rogaland

Feøy is known for its archipelago-like inlets and canals, idyllic beaches and outdoor areas. Feøy has excellent on-shore angling possibilities and you can rent a rowboat for sea angling. On Feøy you can have a quiet and peaceful experience in close contact with nature.

A small river from Store Stokkavatn flows through the beach area. The monument "Sverd i fjell" (Swords in Rock) made by Fritz Røed, is a monument to commemorate the battle of Hafrsfjord that unified Norway into one kingdom in 872.

Solastranden is a 2,3 km long beach close to the airport. It is one of the most popular beaches in the Stavanger region, and a well used spot for wind- and watersports. Traces of war structures can be seen in the southern end of the beach.

The three swords commemorate the historic Battle of Hafrsfjord which by tradition took place there in the year 872 when King Harald Fairhair gathered all of Norway under one crown. The largest sword represents the victorious Harald, and the two smaller swords represent the defeated kings.
