About Nilgiris
The Name ‘Nilgiris’ means Blue hills (Neelam – Blue and Giri – Hill or Mountain). The view of the violet blossoms of ‘kurinji’ flower enveloping the hill ranges periodically. Hence the name Nilgiri arose.
