2 Dams to explore in Tiruchirappalli
The district lies along the banks of the Kaveri River. Formerly called as Trichinoppoly in British rule.
The dam is built at the location where the Kaveri River leaves its tributary, named River Kollidam. The length of Mokkombu is 685 meters, and its layout was planned by Sir Arthur Cotton. Mukkombu is a beautiful picnic spot in the region. It is also called as the upper dam.
