Kargil War Memorial

Evoking a feeling of nationalism and patriotism at one glance, Kargil war memorial is a must visit attraction in Kargil. The memorial is built to honor the soldiers who fought bravely in the Kargil war against Pakistan. At the memorial house, one can see picture description of the major event that took place during the war and army personals who lost their lives. Additionally, the memorial has Sandstone wall where the name of all the soldiers who are inscribed.

Khardung La

Khardung la located in the Indian union territory of Ladakh, is undoubtedly one of the monumental mountain passes all over the world though its exact elevation is still a controversy. The mountain pass not just serves as the gateway to the remote Nubra and Shyok valleys but also offers astonishing views of the twisting roads up the mountain and the awesome valley.

Taglang La

High mountain pass at an elevation of 5,328 meters. Although claims to be the worlds second highest motorable pass, it is actually 12th or so highest motorable pass.

The Lamayuru Monastery

The Monastery consisted originally of five buildings, some remains of the four corner buildings can still be seen. Lamayuru is one of the largest and oldest monasteries in Ladakh, with a population of around 150 permanent monks residing. It has, in the past, housed up to 400 monks, many of which are now monasteries in gompas in surrounding villages.

Tsomoriri Lake View Point

Also known as the Mountain Lake, Tso Moriri is one of the two most popular lakes in the Ladakh region of the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. While Pangong Tso is the more popular out of the two, it’s Tso Moriri which manages to take the breath away of the visitors with its tranquil beauty.

Zoji La

High mountain pass at an elevation of 3,528 meters. It is often closed during winter, driving through the pass in winter means driving between thick walls of ice on both sides.
