Once you decide to travel to zero point or further up towards Leh, you are bound to travel through rugged dusty roads which passes through zojila pass..This is one the most difficult roads to navigate as the roads are very narrow with mountains on one side & deep valley on the other. The pass is broken mostly at places where the glacial water is melting and coming on the road. The view of Baltal from Zoji La is breath taking. There are sections where only one vehicle can pass and the numerous cabs and trucks passing through (both ways) are all keen to get through first. All this makes for a very scary ride - sit on the valley side for a truly thrilling experience. on this route that takes you from Sonamarg to Zero point and onwards to Drass, Kargil and Leh.
