Apex Trail lies Just minutes away from the city, lies a nice respite from the Metro- a 3.30-mile greenway type trail gaining up to 1,500 feet in elevation. It was designated as one of America’s prized national recreation trails in 1978, Apex Trail continues to awe various bikers, runners, and hikers alike on its spectacular singletrack moderate difficulty trail.
Bandimere Speedway

Bandimere Speedway sits at the foothills of the Rockies on the West side of the Metro Denver area. The track was established in 1958 by John Bandimere, Sr. as a way to augment his performance parts businesses in Denver, as well as have an opportunity to instruct youth on the automobile. The track has several quirks that make it unique within the NHRA's schedule of events. The track is also the only NHRA sanctioned track with a downhill staging area, and uphill shut down strip.

Beaver Brook Trail is actually a small system of trails that sit very close to the front range of the Denver Metro area. It is a challenging hiker only trail connecting Windy Saddle Park, Clear Creek Canyon Park, and Denver Mountain Parks' Genesee Mountain Park. Distances range from 4 miles up to 20+ as out an out-and-back, and you can change your experience wildly from easy to very difficult.

Clear Creek Canyon Park offers unique recreation experiences among its steep canyon walls and fast flowing creek. With the opening of a segment of the Peaks to Plains Trail, bicycles are allowed in the canyon for the first time. This project also includes the first suspension bridge in Jefferson County. This pedestrian-only crossing of Clear Creek near Tunnel 1 connects hikers with the restored wooden flume of the Welch Ditch on the south side of the creek.

Colorado Railroad Museum

A majestic museum established in 1959 to preserve a record of Colorado's flamboyant railroad era, particularly the state's pioneering narrow-gauge mountain railroads. It has around 15-acre railyard with over 100 locomotives, passenger and freight cars, cabooses and even a G-scale garden railway.All of the railroad equipment is displayed outdoors. Display tracks are complete with a rare three-way stub switch, dual gauge track and switches and century-old switch stands.

Dedisse Park is a Denver Mountain Park located in Jefferson County, Colorado. Lots of pretty trails mostly inclined. Beautiful rock outcroppings, river to fish in, next to golf course, clean picnic areas. Out houses near picnic area. Colorado's first mountain golf course, the Evergreen Golf Course, was constructed here in 1925, which features the rustic lodge Keys on the Green restaurant.

Evergreen Mountain lies in the southwest corner of the 1,128 acre Alderfer/Three Sisters Park, part of the Jefferson County Open Space. Accessible via an approximately 6-mile round-trip hike on excellent, well-signed trails and requiring about 1,100 feet of elevation gain, the Evergreen Mountain summit is attainable to a wide-spectrum of hikers.
