The Lunzer See is a body of water at the foot of the Dürrenstein not far from the town of Lunz am See . It is considered to be the only naturally occurring and the coldest lake in Lower Austria. There is a restaurant and boat rentals on the western shore. Boat trips are also offered on the lake. A 4,000 square meter sunbathing area, diving platform, table tennis and a well-run buffet await you in the seaside resort

The Museum Center in Mistelbach is a museum complex that opened in May 2007. The site of the former Heger&Sohn company, a former factory for agricultural equipment, was used as the site. This area was given a contemporary design, with an adaptation for a museum and event operation. The museum center houses two museums - the nitsch museum and the museum previously known as "Lebenswelt Weinviertel.

Muckenkogel is a part of the Gutensteiner Alps in the Austrian province of Lower Austria. Rising 4095 feet above sea level, the mountain is one of several close to the historic city of Lilienfeld. Today it is of historical significance due to the Czech-born ski pioneer Mathias Zdarsky. On March 19, 1905 the first official Alpine Ski Race was held on Muckenkogel. It was won by Zdarsky. Today, the mountain is a spot for hiking, mountain biking, as well as paragliding.

Myra Waterfalls was a series of cascades and small waterfalls on the Myrabach with a total drop of maybe 70m. The gorge runs from north to south and is protected as a natural monument. The subsoil of the gorge is limestone. The Myrabach falls in several cascades through the gorge. At the upper and lower end the water is impounded into a small pond.

A majestic wildlife preserve in the southwest corner of Vienna, Austria, 80% of it being covered in woodland. Its total area is 2,450 hectares - 1,945 hectares of which are forest areas. The enclosing wall of the Lainzer Tiergarten is around 22 kilometers long. From a geological point of view, this area can be assigned to the so-called flysch zone

Downstream are the Dobra reservoir and the Thurnberger reservoir. The reservoir is a popular destination, especially in summer, and stimulates tourism in the region. There are numerous cycling, hiking and horseback riding trails along the wooded banks.

The steep-sided limestone mountain Peilstein in the southern Vienna Woods is 716 m above sea level. A. hoch, is located in the municipality of Altenmarkt and Weissenbach east of Nöstach and is popular as a climbing garden because of its high cliffs that drop steeply to the west . At the top is the 1923 built Peilsteinhaus of the Austrian Alpine Club , on the trail of Schwarzensee after the Second World War established Peilsteinhütte the nature lovers .

A beautiful cable way starting at Hirschwang at the north-eastern foot of the mountains and the first in Austria (construction began in 1925), takes visitors to the extensive, high plateau of the Rax at a height of about 1,500 m. This area is a particular favourite with hikers from Lower Austria and Vienna. The steep sides of the plateau offer climbing tours of various difficulty.

The Reisalpe is the highest mountain in the Gutenstein Alps and lies between Lilienfeld, Hohenberg and Kleinzell in Lower Austria.It is a popular destination, both for hikers in summer and also for ski mountaineering and snowshoe walks in winter, and is classed as relatively safe from avalanches.

The Ringstraße is a street in Austria's capital Vienna. It goes around the first district in almost the shape of a circle. The road is located on sites where medieval city fortifications once stood, including high walls and the broad open field ramparts, criss-crossed by paths that lay before them. Carnuntum was a Roman legionary fortress and headquarters of the Pannonian fleet from 50 AD. After the 1st century, it was capital of the Pannonia Superior province. Its impressive remains are situated on the Danube in Lower Austria halfway between Vienna and Bratislava in the Carnuntum Archaeological Park extending over an area of 10 km2 near today's villages of Petronell-Carnuntum and Bad Deutsch-Altenburg.

Schallaburg Castle is a 1,000-year-old architectural piece of art that has countless exciting stories to tell. The castle is combination of a Romanesque residential castle and a Gothic chapel, patterned in the Italian Renaissance style. Aesthetically built, it has a well-decorated two-storied arcaded court with elegant cantilevered staircases and a courtyard. The fortified building survived almost unchanged for a millennium.

Schloss Eckartsau is a castle converted into a hunting lodge in Eckartsau not far from the Donauauen in Marchfeld , Lower Austria. The original castle was a four-sided moated castle. The castle, which is now in the Donau-Auen National Park , thus became the property of the Republic of Austria, managed by the Austrian Federal Forests .As a museum, the castle has also been awarded the museum seal of approval. The Marchfeld castles also include Niederweiden Castle and Hof Castle .

A majestic palace located in Marchfeld, Austria near the border of Slovakia. It once belonged to Prince Eugene of Savoy who purchased it late in his life in 1726. The Castle of Schloss Hof became the main motive of one of the most famous silver collectors coins: the Castle of Schlosshof coin. This coin was issued honouring the castle with the obverse side showing a view of the castle from the terraced garden side.

Mayerling Castle was a hunting lodge in Mayerling near Alland in Lower Austria , southwest of Vienna , until 1889 . Today it houses the Carmelite St. Joseph of the Discalced Carmelites. After the death of the heir to the Austrian throne Rudolf and his mistress, the building turned into a monastery. On that place where the couple had died the church depicted above has been erected.

Niederweiden Castle is a baroque castle in Engelhartstetten im Marchfeld in the district of Gänserndorf. It combines the Baroque desire for prestige and rustic comfort in a harmonious manner. Like Hof Castle, Niederweiden Castle was once the property of Prince Eugene before being acquired by Empress Maria Theresa.

Schloss Schönbühel is a castle in the Lower Austrian town of Schönbühel-Aggsbach, below Melk on the right bank of the Danube. It was built on rock approximately 40 metres above the level of the river Danube. The castle was briefly owned by Conrad von Eisenbeutel, and then by the Abbey of Melk. In 1396 it was sold to the brothers Caspar and Gundaker von Starhemberg. It remained in the Starhemberg family for more than 400 years, but fell into disrepair.
