Claypotts Castle is a well-preserved Z-plan tower house. It consists of a rectangular main block of three storeys and a garret, and two large round towers, crowned with square gabled chambers, at opposite corners. Now surrounded by modern housing, the castle is maintained as an Ancient Monument by Historic Environment Scotland.

Cox's Stack is an 85m high chimney in the Lochee area of the city and one of the remaining relics of Dundee's once buoyant jute industry. It was constructed in 1866 and formed part of the Cox Brothers' Camperdown Works, one of the largest jute factories of its time. Modelled on an Italian campanile, the Stack was designed by local architect James MacLaren.

The D'Arcy Thompson Zoology Museum is a museum of zoology at the University of Dundee in Scotland. It houses many fascinating specimens from around the world. The museum has a collection of birds, fish, insects, mammals, and reptiles from around the world, together with many of D'Arcy Thompson's original models and teaching aids, including Glass Sea Creatures by Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka and model and fluid preparations by Vaclav Fric.

Dudhope Castle is a large L-shaped mansion built to the west of the city centre of Dundee. Originally constructed as a 46-gun frigate at Chatham Royal Dockyard, Unicorn arrived in Dundee in 1873 as a training ship for the Royal Naval Reserves – a role she carried out until the 1960s. She is the oldest ship in Scotland, one of the six oldest ships in the world, and one of the last intact warships from the age of sail.

Kinpurnie Hill is one of the most famous hills of the Sidlaw range in south-east Perthshire. Kinpurnie Hill is located near Newtyle and is popular with hillwalkers. Atop the hill is Kinpurnie Tower, designed by Alexander Bryce, Minister of Kirknewton and East Calder and built by amateur astronomer James Stuart-Mackenzie in 1766 to be used as an observatory. It is 12 metres tall and is visible from the roadside.
