Fortress of San Leo

The fort of San Leo, also known as the fortress of San Leo, is located in the municipality of the same name in the province of Rimini. It is located on the top of the rocky peak that overlooks the town of Leontine and dominates the Valmarecchia. In 2015 it registered 72 617 visitors. Since December 2014, the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities has been managing it through the Emilia-Romagna Museum Complex, which in December 2019 became the Regional Directorate for Museums.

The Sanvitale fortress, also known as the castle of Fontanellato, is a manor old medieval entirely surrounded by a moat filled with water, which is in Piazza Matteotti 1 in Fontanellato, in the province of Parma; inside there is the Saletta of Diana and Actaeon, known for the frescoes mannerists of Parmigianino. The castle, entirely surrounded by a moat fed by spring water, develops on a square plan around a central courtyard, with four corner towers, three of which are cylindrical.

The Rocchetta Mattei is a fortress located on the northern Apennines, on a hill 407 meters above sea level, in the locality of Savignano in the municipality of Grizzana Morandi, on the state road nº 64 Porrettana, in the metropolitan city of Bologna. Built-in the second half of the 19th century, it mixes different styles in an eclectic way, from medieval to Moorish.
