Dante's TombThe tomb of Dante is the neoclassical tomb of the poet Dante Alighieri erected at the Basilica of San Francesco in the center of Ravenna. The Supreme Poet lived the last years of his existence in the Romagna city, dying there in 1321. The tomb is a national monument and around it, an area of respect and silence called the "Dante area" has been established. The area includes the tomb of the poet, the garden with the Quadrarco, and the Franciscan cloisters, which house the Dante Museum.
