The Comacchio Valleys are a vast protected wetland area located in Emilia-Romagna, between the provinces of Ravenna and Ferrara, south of the Po Delta and north of the Romagna Riviera, constituting one of the largest wetlands in Italy. Formed by 4 valleys: Lido di Magnavacca, Fossa di Porto, Valle Campo, and Fattibello, they extend geographically from Comacchio to the riverReno.
The regional park of the Po Delta of Emilia-Romagna is a protected natural area established in 1988 of about 54,000 hectares located in the Emilia-Romagna region. The Po Delta park has the largest extension of protected wetlands in Italy. The flora is extremely varied and includes about a thousand different species. The presence of birds and of truffles is also interesting, especially in correspondence with the cordons of fossil dunes.
The Pietra di Bismantova is a characteristic mountain of the Reggio Apennines, 1041 meters high. Located in the municipality of Castelnovo ne 'Monti , a town that rises on its slopes, in the province of Reggio Emilia, it looks like a narrow plateau with steep walls, which stands isolated among the Apennine mountains.
