Musée départemental Victor Schœlcher

The Schœlcher museum is a museum located in Guadeloupe in the old district of Pointe-à-Pitre, at 24 rue Peynier. It houses a collection composed in particular of objects that belonged to the French journalist and politician Victor Schœlcher who was the defender of the definitive abolition of slavery in France. The building is partially listed as a historical monument in 1979.

Musée St-John Perse

The Saint-John-Perse Museum is a municipal museum located in the historic district of Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. It houses a permanent exhibition on Creole costumes and on the poet and diplomat Saint-John Perse who won Nobel Prize for Literature in 1960. The building has been partially classified as a historical monument. It is also one of the prime attractions in this area.
