Sustenhorn is one of the most frequently visited mountains between the Bernese Oberland and Central Switzerland, due to its altitude and superb view and due to its multiple access from three sides. This monument was created by Richard Kissling between 1882 to 1895 in memory of the freedom fighter Wilhelm Tell. It was made in bronze and It shows the Swiss national hero with his crossbow and accompanied by his son. At the base is the traditional date of Rütlischwur of 1307.

A beautiful valley which was located in the Upper Ruess. The valley was in possession of Disentis Abbey from 800. It was colonized by Walser settlers prior to the 12th century. It was one of the picturesque locations in this area. The view from this area is truly wonderful and it attracts a lot of tourists here.
