Volcanoes to Explore in Camarines Sur
An old dormant stratovolcano located at Bicol lies a prominent mountain known to mountaineer as Mt.Asog but to local, it is Mt.Iriga straddling into multiple towns of Camarines Sur, in particular, Iriga and Buhi. According to some article, underneath its crater lies 4 fault line and may erupt anytime without warning but as to date, the mountain remains calm. My difficulty rating for this mountain is 4/9 similar to Mt.Cristobal. The summit crater rim is very astonishing as it will offer the hiker
Isarog volcano is an andesitic stratovolcano of Naga city, in SE Luzon, Philippines. It is part of the Bicol volcanic chain, and could still be active although no historic eruptions are known. Mount Isarog was where local troops of the Philippine Army and Constabulary units and Bicolano guerrillas hid during the Japanese Occupation. Now it is one of the beautiful places in this province and a lot of peoples comes here for trekking and to enjoy this nature's wonder.
