Goldberg Group

The Goldberg Group is a sub-group of the Hohe Tauern mountain range within the Central Eastern Alps. It is located in Austria, in the states of Salzburg and Carinthia. Its highest peak is the Hocharn. The name of the group is related to the rich mineral ores of the area and the associated historic mining.

Grebenzen

The Grebenzen is a high, karstified plateau mountain in the Gurktal Alps on the border between Styria and Carinthia in Austria. Around the highest point are several karst caves. The largest cave is the Wilde Loch. The ski area, also called Grebenzen, is located on the north side of the Grebenzen.

Below this mountain the path bends to the southwest from the Arnspitzhütte, whence it heads northwest to the summit.

Großer Bettelwurf

The Großer Bettelwurf is a mountain, 2,726 m, and thus the highest peak in the Gleirsch-Halltal Chain in the Karwendel mountains of Tyrol. It is also the fourth highest summit in the Karwendel. The neighbouring Kleiner Bettelwurf reaches a height of 2,650 m. It is a good trekking destination and also it offers nice views of this area also.

Grosser Lafatscher

The Great Lafatscher is a high mountain peak of the Gleirsch-Halltal chain in the Karwendel and thus the seventh highest peak of the entire mountain range after the six Karwendel peaks that reach a height of more than 2700 m . It can be reached from the Halltal in about 4 hours. The easiest ascent leads from the Wilde Bande-Steig , which runs south of the Rosskopf.

Großer Priel

The Große Priel is the only peak in the Dead Mountains that protrudes above the 2500 m mark, and its rocky neighbor, the Spitzmauer, is considered the most beautiful elevation of the Dead Mountains. It ranks among the ultra prominent peaks of the Alps. Part of the Northern Limestone Alps, its steep Dachstein cliffs form the northeastern rim of a large karst plateau and are visible from afar across the Alpine Foreland.

The Große Pyhrgas is a mountain in the Ennstal Alps on the border between Upper Austria and Styria. At a height of 2,244 m above sea level. it is the highest summit and western buttress of the Haller Mauern range. Alpine huts on the Großer Pyhrgas are, on the Upper Austrian side, the Hofalm Hut (1,305 m), the Rohrauerhaus and the Bosruck Hut.

Großer Solstein

The Große Solstein is a mountain, on the western corner of the Nordkette range in the Karwendel mountains near Zirl in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Its summit may be ascended on various mountain tour routes either from the Solsteinhaus or from the New Magdeburg Hut. These routes are described as not difficult but require stamina. The crossing to the higher peak of the Kleiner Solstein, despite its name the highest in the Nordkette, is described in that article.

Grosser Speikkogel

The Große Speikkogel is the highest peak in the Koralpe . The summit is located in Carinthia around 400 meters west of the border with Styria. It is believed that the Speikkogel summit as the highest point of the Koralm ridge was already of military importance in Roman times and was used as a lookout point.

Großer Widderstein

Großer Widderstein is the highest and most dominating mountain of Klein Walsertal and located at the southern end of the valley. The mountain is formed out of dolomite rock and has a massive appearance from any side. It is the highest peak in the subgroup of the Southeastern Walsertal Mountains. There are several climbing routes on the faces of the Widderstein.

Großwalsertal

A side valley of the Walgau and stretches from this in an easterly to north-easterly direction to the mountainous center of the country. The end of the valley borders on the Bregenz Forest . The great Walsertal is best known for the UNESCO biosphere park of the same name.The name of the valley comes from the Walsers who moved here from Valais in the 13th century .

Grünhorn

A majestic mountain located on the ridge between the two largest glaciers of the Alps: the Aletsch Glacier to the west and the Fiescher Glacier to the east. To the south lies the Gross Wannenhorn and, to the north, the Gross Fiescherhorn. The starting point for the normal route via the Grünegghorn and the south-west ridge is the Konkordiahütte at 2,850 metres (9,350 ft), which can be reached from Fiesch.

Hafelekarspitze

The Hafelekarspitze is a mountain in the so-called North Chain north of Innsbruck in Austria. In summer, nearby Hafelekar gap is starting point for two popular trails on the Southern Inntal ridge of Karwendel:the Goetheweg hiking trail due east, andthe Innsbrucker klettersteig. There is also a cosmic radiation observatory of the University of Innsbruck, the only one of its kind in Austria.

Haunsberg

The Haunsberg is an 835 meter high, mostly wooded ridge in the north of the Salzburg-Umgebung (Flachgau) district in the Austrian state of Salzburg. At the top, there is a symbolic tree that is considered a symbol of the northern Flachgau region, as well as a radar system from Austro Control and a number of prehistoric sites. For tourist purposes, a circular route has been signposted from the Kaiserbuche to the south . There is also a hiking trail along the ridge.

Hellbrunner Berg

The Hellbrunn mountain is the southernmost city mountain in the city of Salzburg . It is entirely located within the palace gardens of Hellbrunn Palace and the Hellbrunn Zoo. The mountain has a settlement history of at least four thousand years, stretching from the Neolithic to the pre-Roman La Tène period. It is one of the iconic location in this area and it offers nice views too.

Hemmaberg, Rosaliengrotte

The Hemmaberg is a high mountain in the apron of the Karawanken and lies west of the village Globasnitz in the south of Carinthia . There has been a Celtic sanctuary on the summit plateau at least since Roman times . In late antique times there was a hillside settlement with an older church and two double churches built at the same time at the beginning of the 6th century. A good trekking destination and also there are so many other leisure opportunities too.

Hintere Brandjochspitze

The Hintere Brandjochspitze is a summit roughly 200 metres northwest of the Vordere Brandjochspitze in the Nordkette range above Innsbruck. The summit may be reached in 20 minutes from the Vordere Brandjochspitze at climbing grade UIAA I through a gully left of the arête.

The Hochalmspitze is at an altitude of 3360 m above sea level. A. the highest point in the Ankogel group in the Hohe Tauern . As a counterpart to the Glockner , it is also known as the "Tauern Queen" or "Tauern Princess". It is popularly called Der Hochalmer . It is located east of Mallnitz in Carinthia. The normal route leads from the Gießener Hütte over the southeast ridge. This path was first walked in 1892 by Frido Kordon and his companions.
