Hallstätter See

Hallstätter See is a lake in the Salzkammergut, Austria. It is named after Hallstatt, a small market town famous for its salt mining since prehistoric times and for being the starting point of the world's oldest still-working industrial pipeline, used to transport brine to Bad Ischl and further to Ebensee. Its surface is approximately 8.55 km2 and its maximum depth is 125 metres. It is a popular destination for tourists, especially scuba divers.

Hinterer Gosausee

A beautiful hiking trail along the Vorderen Gosau lake, to the Gosaulacke and on to the Hinterer Gosau lake. You have a wonderful view of the Dachstein. It is best to walk along the left side of the Vorderen Gosau lake, here you have the Dachstein with its glacier in view. Past the Gosaulacke there are a few steep passages towards the goal. Again and again you have great views of King Dachstein.

Irrsee

A beautiful lake located in the Salzkammergut, Austria. It is 3.5 km2 in area and its maximum depth is 32 metres. It is a popular tourist destination. A good picnic location and also a good camping site. Fishing and bathing is also possible here.

Kamp

The Kamp is a 168-kilometre-long river in northern Austria, left tributary of the Danube. The source of the Kamp is on the border of Lower Austria and Upper Austria, near the town Liebenau, in the Mühlviertel. It flows generally east through Rappottenstein, Zwettl, Krumau am Kamp, Gars am Kamp and Langenlois. An iconic picnic location and also trekking is possible.

Keutschacher See

Keutschacher See is a lake of Carinthia, Austria. It is sixth-largest in Carinthia, with an area of 1.32 km2. It has a Neolithic stilt settlement, discovered by Ferdinand von Hochstetter in 1864. The lake has an oblong-oval shape. To the west lies a bay, into which the tributaries flow. To the east is a narrow peninsula, which extends about 400 m into the lake. In the middle of the lake there is a shoal where the water is only 1.6 m deep, but nearby the lake reaches its maximum depth of 15.6 m

Similar to the Geiselweiher at the foot of the Untersberg, which was abandoned in 1805, it was laid out before 1500 as a retention area for excess water from the Alm Canal . In the 18th century, Leopoldskron was included in the large palace gardens.

Leopoldsteinersee

A beautiful mountain lake in Styria. It is situated at 628 metres above sea level at the foot of the Seemauer in the western Hochschwab range. The lake is surrounded by rugged mountains with mixed or coniferous forests. A 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) hiking trail circles the lake. There is a local outfit that rents electric or rowing boats. The lake is named after the nearby Leopoldstein Castle.

Lünersee

One of the most beautiful alpine lakes and a popular tourist attraction located at 1970 m at the foot of Schesaplana the highest mountain. It has a dam and it supplies water to four local power plants, Lünersee, Rodund I, Rodund II and Walgau. The lake is linked to the village of Brand by a cable car system, the Lünerseebahn.

Lunzer See

The Lunzer See is a body of water at the foot of the Dürrenstein not far from the town of Lunz am See . It is considered to be the only naturally occurring and the coldest lake in Lower Austria. There is a restaurant and boat rentals on the western shore. Boat trips are also offered on the lake. A 4,000 square meter sunbathing area, diving platform, table tennis and a well-run buffet await you in the seaside resort
