Hoshangabad is a city and a municipality in the Hoshangabad district in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is a city in the central India region, on the south bank of the Narmada River. It also contains animals from the Himalayan peaks and from the lower western ghats. UNESCO designated it as a biosphere reserve in 2009.
