The regional natural park of Portofino is a protected natural area located in the Riviera di Levante, about thirty kilometers east of Genoa, in the geographical area of the eastern gulf of Paradise and western Tigullio. The Sentina regional nature reserve is a protected natural area located at the mouth of the Tronto river within the municipality of San Benedetto del Tronto, in the province of Ascoli Piceno and established with regional resolution no. 156 of 14 December 2004. It is located north of the mouth of the Tronto river, it is a brackish swamp that occupies an area of 177.5 hectares in which there are only very few rural buildings.
