Montalbano Jonico is an Italian town of 7 057 inhabitants in the province of Matera in Basilicata. On 2 April 2009, the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano awarded the town of Montalbano Jonico with the honorary title of city. The National Archaeological Museum of Metaponto is a museum located in Metaponto, in Basilicata.
