Col de la Schlucht - 4 Things to Know Before Visiting

Sentier Des Roches, also known under the names of Felsenpfad or Strohmeyerpfad, is a hiking trail in the Vosges mountains that connects the Schlucht pass to Frankenthal, near the Hohneck. Created in the early 1910s, it is partly carved into the rock and has several passages fitted out using stairs and walkways. It is one of the best known and most frequented trails in the Vosges mountains and also one of the most accident-prone.

Hohneck is the Second summit of the Vosges mountains with 1364 m of altitude. As most of the summits of the Vosges, the Hohneck is situated on the water sharing crest between the Borgesian side cut by the river Vologne and the alsatian side cut by the valley of the river Fecht. The Lac de Longemer is an Ice Age glacial lake located in France in the Grand Est region in the Vosges department . The inflow and outflow of the lake is through the river Vologne . It is located on the western flank of the Vosges in a chain of lakes that includes the Lac de Retournemer upstream and the Lac de Gérardmer further downstream .

The Trout Lake or Lake Forlet , is the highest lakes Vosges at 1066 m altitude. It is called Forlenweier in Alsatian and reïf tou blan in Welsch . it is nestled in a large glacial cirque surrounded by steep slopes culminating at 1,303 meters. The one side of the lake has been made in to a barrage to regulate the flow of water into the Fecht. This lake was located in a picturesque location which was in the middle of woods and is also a calm and quiet area too.

La Mauselaine is a ski resort located in the Vosges at Gérardmer. Opened in 1958 on three tracks and it now has around 21 tracks. The resort's numerous activities include ski touring, snowshoeing, horseback riding, tobogganing, dog sledging, ice rivuleting, snow canyoning, ice climbing, ice karting, snowmobiling and so more. One of the famous locations in this area where you can spend some leisure time.
