The Hedgehog is a river in the Jura massif, in France, in the French Jura Lakes Region and a tributary of the Ain, therefore a sub-tributary of the Rhône. The Lac de Vouglans is the reservoir of the hydro-electric power station at Vouglans on the River Ain in the département of Jura in the region of Franche-Comté in eastern France. The lake lies on Jurassic rock crushed into the north to south ridges by the Alpine orogeny. The lake is arranged for tourism with view-points scattered through the woods which cover the hillsides along its shores and places set up for bathing and boating.

The Grande Traversée du Jura is a 400-kilometer long-distance hiking trail in the Jura. The path runs from Mandeure in a south-westerly direction. However, there are several variants, and some of the routes also lead to neighboring Switzerland. The trail was opened in 2003 and is not considered to be particularly technically demanding. The infrastructure includes several shelters and the option of being accompanied by donkeys as pack animals.

The Risoux forms a wooded mountain range in the Jura, which extends in a south-west-north-east direction according to the general course of the folded Jura in this area. The border between France and Switzerland runs over the ridge. One of the nice trekking destinations and also a nice area for a short picnic.
