Susten Pass - 4 Things to Know Before Visiting

Sustenhorn is one of the most frequently visited mountains between the Bernese Oberland and Central Switzerland, due to its altitude and superb view and due to its multiple access from three sides. It is one of the ideal locations for rock climbing and also for other adventure activities. The mountain is about 3502 meters high and the views from the top are truly astonishing.

A comfortable and relatively easy climbing mountain, Grassen at 2946 meters is the highest and most left summit of the Grassengrat. Located midway between the villages of Berne, Uri, and Obwalden, the picturesque mountain serves as a tri-point. It also offers stunning views of the mountain.

The Fleckistock is a 3,417 metres high mountain in the Urner Alps, overlooking Wassen in the canton of Uri. It is the highest summit of the group lying east of the pass of Sustenjoch. This range, starting at the Stucklistock and ending at the Salbitschijen, separates the valleys of Voralp, above Göschenen and Meiental, above Wassen.

The Titlis Cliff Walk is a pedestrian bridge along the cliff of Mount Titlis in the Swiss Alps. Built at around 3,000 metres above sea l(evel, it is believed to be the highest-elevation suspension bridge in Europe. It broke the record held by Salbit Bridge, also located in Switzerland. The bridge spans a distance of around 100 m (320 ft) but is just 1 m wide.

The Gwächtenhorn is a 3,420 meters high mountain in the Urner Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Bern and Uri. It overlooks the Stein Glacier and the Susten Pass on its north side and the Chelen Glacier on its south side. Being covered by snow from the summit to the bottom, the north side of the Gwächtenhorn is much appreciated by skiers.

The Reissend Nollen is a mountain of the Uri Alps, located on the border between the Swiss cantons of Obwalden and Bern. It lies on the range west of the Titlis, between Engelberg and Gadmen.
