Shillong has one of the air force bases of India and naturally, they have an air force museum as well.
You can learn about Indian Air Force history and its iconic leaders and personnas and also wander through an open field that displays fighter planes, helicopters, artilleries, missiles and many other equipments. This is a great place to learn about the Indian air force.
And be prepared for very tedious security checks at the entry. It's mandatory to bring any national identity card or the entry will be denied.Know more about Air Force Museum

The museum offers its visitors an insight into the history of the Indian Air Force and its events, especially during the Indo - Pak War of 1971. Among other things, the museum provides information on the history of planes and aircraft, models of aircrafts, the world's oldest airport, and the Wright brothers’ memorial.
