5 Attractions to Explore Near Don Det

An old railway bridge which was located in the Champasak province of Laos. This railway and this bridge was a remarkable one in the history of Laos. It connects the islands of Don Det and Don Khon.

The Khone falls, a series of cascading waterfalls in the Mekong river is one of Laos’ most beautiful natural attractions. Wat Phou or Vat Phu, which translates to “mountain temple” was built during the late 10th to early 11th century, which makes it older than Angkor’s best known monument, the Angkor Wat, which was built during the first half of the 12th century. Over the following centuries structures were added to the temple until the 14th century when the Angkor empire went into decline.
