Old Fort Park - 4 Things to Know Before Visiting

This museum houses artwork by A. E. Backus and other Florida artists. The museum contains the largest collection of paintings by A. E. Backus, a preeminent Florida landscape painter.

Heathcote Botanical Gardens is a five-acre subtropical botanical garden located at 210 Savannah Road, Fort Pierce. It currently includes a Japanese garden with teahouse, Reflection Garden, Herb Garden, Rainforest Display, Native Plants Garden, Children's Garden, and a Palm and Cycad Walk.

The St. Lucie County Aquarium offers visitors a chance to experience the wonders of our ocean and estuarine ecosystems. Featuring over 190 native species, the aquarium allows guests to explore the different habitats that make up coastal Florida. From sea urchins, otters, turtles and sharks to jellyfish, Florida Game fish and even alligators, there's no shortage of fascinating creatures on display. Jetty Park, is an ideal spot for a peaceful beach vacation. The park offers several camping and lodging options that range from cabins and full service RV sites to primitive camping on the beach. Fort Pierce Inlet State Park is a 340-acre part of the Florida State Park system. It consists of beaches, dunes and a coastal hammock between the Atlantic Ocean and the waters of Tucker Cove, an indentation of the Indian River Lagoon.

Also known as the Navy SEAL Museum, is located in St. Lucie County. It houses exhibits to inform and educate on the role of Navy Underwater Demolition Teams. The museum also preserves the history of the SEALs (the original Navy frogmen first trained outside of Fort Pierce).
